The Pet Parlor is a pet sitting and dog walking company serving families across Porter and Lake County in Northwest Indiana. We’re a small, close-knit team that genuinely loves what we do — and we’re growing! That’s where you come in.
We’re not your typical employer. There’s no office, no cubicle, and no micromanaging. You’ll visit clients’ homes, care for their fur babies, and build real relationships with the pets (and people!) on your route. Our sitters say it all the time: this is the best job ever.

What the job looks like:
You’ll travel to clients’ homes and take care of their pets — feeding, walking, medication administration, litter scooping, accident cleanup, and sending updates to pet parents. You’ll also need to communicate promptly with our office and your fellow team members. Did we mention you’ll be required to play with puppies and kittens? It’s a tough gig.
Basic requirements:
- Over 21 years of age
- Able to pass a background check
- Local full-time resident of Northwest Indiana (must reside within our service area zip codes)
- Have reliable personal transportation
- Have a smartphone with the ability to download apps and take photos
- No pet allergies (dogs, cats, or other common household pets)
- Able to receive regular paychecks
How much can I make?
Our pet sitters are currently making between $10–17 hourly (wages, travel pay, and client tips) while filling their dog, cat, puppy, and kitten-cuddling needs each week! Our staff say that it is the “best job ever” and one current employee says, “It’s my therapy from my other job!”
