Hello, all you wonderful ‘pet people’!! Today is 4/28/22 (just in case you start reading this in 2026 and wonder how this information could be SO WRONG!!) Just wanted to pop in and share a bit of what’s going on around ‘da region’ … pet centered (of course!) Here goes:
Saturday and Sunday (April 30 / May 1)
Valparaiso is hosting this (pretty fantastic) event for all you other-than-cat-and-dog animal enthusiasts. Midwest Expos, the Great Lakes region Premier provider of hobbyist expos and shows, is bringing another great Reptile & Animal Extravaganza to town.
Quite a variety of little (and not so little) munchkins will be present: Chameleons, Crickets, Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, Arachnids/Spiders (Nooope! I’m OUT), Snakes, Pythons, Sugar Gliders, Ferrets, Frogs, Cockatoos, Parrots, Cockatiels, Feeders , Supplies and a large variety of fuzzy, furry and feathered friends will be there to say ‘hi’! (Your kids will probably LOVE this). Here’s the info:

Here’s another kid-friendly Valparaiso pet event: MEET THE ANIMALS!
One of their most popular programs! Hosted by Porter County Parks and Recreation and Sunset Hill Farm County Park, you and your kids can come meet farm some cute farm animals and their caregivers. Current animals include sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, and bunnies. Come on over and learn about each species while taking the opportunity to feed and pet them. No registration required.
