FEBRUARY IS HERE!!
I’ve been mixing in the local area events with the pet-related holidays – how is that working for you guys? Do you like it or should I keep them separate? Let me know!
Wow, I can’t believe how many pet ‘holidays’ there are in February!
It’s “Beat the Heat Month” It’s not what you’re thinking! This is a reference to spaying/neutering your pet! I can hear you saying, “ahhhh now I get it!” Beat the Heat is put on by PetSmart Charities and is a joint effort with humane societies, clinics, and shelters to provide low-cost spay/neuter services for dog and cat owners. (That’s pretty awesome, if you ask me!) There are quite a few litter-deterring holidays this month … in addition to “Beat The Heat Month”, February is also:
Spay/Neuter Awareness Month (Humane Society of the United States) and National Prevent a Litter Month
Feb. 26, 2019 is World Spay Day – it’s an annual campaign by the Humane Society International and The Humane Society of the United States; held the last Tuesday of February. *You might want to check with your local veterinarian to see if they are running any specials in honor of these holidays – maybe you can get it done a bit less expensively.
February is also Dog Training Education Month – (*SPOILER ALERT!) stay tuned for a video from a dog trainer (local of course!) to be posted on our website soon …… maybe even in February!!
It’s also National Cat Health Month
And Pet Dental Health Month – If your baby needs their teeth cleaned, I know that Ridge Animal Clinic is really good about running some good specials around this time. At least they did last year.
Unchain a Dog Month .. not familiar with this one.
Ok, on to the local fun stuff!
